When my partner and I were engaged, it became clear how little of the traditional fine jewelry world was built with queer couples in mind. Shopping for rings together made the gaps impossible to ignore. The assumptions. The questions. The lack of recognition. A reminder of how easily queer relationships can be misunderstood or overlooked entirely.
SAPPHAE was created to honor queer love which has too often been overlooked, minimized, or treated as an afterthought in the fine jewelry world. Rooted in sapphic identity, this brand exists on the belief that love deserves to be celebrated without needing to conform or explain itself.

The Name
SAPPHAE (sapph-ee) takes its name from the word sapphic, drawn from the poetry of Sappho and her writing about love between women. The name carries that lineage forward, shaped by romance, devotion, heritage and queer storytelling that feels both inclusive and celebratory.
How We Create
Every SAPPHAE piece is drawn and designed by Belle Stanton, and handcrafted to order in small batches just outside of New York City in northern New Jersey. We work exclusively with 14k gold, platinum, and lab-grown diamonds. Never plated, never filled.
Our designs blend antique-inspired silhouettes and unique diamond cuts, creating pieces that feel timeless but still deeply personal.
We choose a made-to-order model because jewelry should be crafted for the person who will wear it, not produced in bulk. Thoughtful, intentional, slow by design.
